This event will focus on the importance
of promoting tourism in the north and the discovery of the rewards
of volunteer work for worthwhile charities. The most important
focus is self development of personal character, confidence,
stage presence and personal interaction with others. It is intended
for all contestants and family to leave this experience a stronger
and educated individual. This pageant is an official preliminary
to the Miss World Canada Pageant held each year in Toronto.
Should the attending contestant be the recipient of the Miss
World Canada title, she will represent Canada at the Miss World
Pageant. Contestants attending the MNORCP will also be considered
as representatives for other national pageants, talent competitions
and or model searches/competitions as they become available.
Contestants will be selected randomly pertaining to suitability
for that particular event and requirements of such. Therefore,
considerable opportunities are available in the future for just
participating. For example, a contestant may not be of the age
requirement at this time for national pageants but will be considered
if required in future years.

The Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant will be held
at the beautiful Holiday Inn on Regent Street, Sudbury. The
pageant is open to the first 30 contestants only from girls
aged 16-24 from locations all across Northern Ontario.
Thursday May 22, 2008
Complete activity day for all contestants and chaperones. Contestants
will partake in numerous activities throughout the day to get
to know one another, interact and most of all relax and have
fun.
Friday May 23, 2008
Various activities will take place throughout the day followed
by “The Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant” Preliminary
& Talent Show at the Holiday Inn on Regent Street. This
will afford the contestants more stage time and opportunity
for the judges to have extra judging. Show time is 8:00 p.m.
Saturday May 24, 2008
Various activities will also take place throughout the day followed
by “The Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant “GALA FINAL
SHOW”. This will be an extremely exciting stage performance
by all contestants and entertainers. Show time is 8:00 p.m.
THE EVENT
Miss North Ontario Regional Canada along with other potential
contestants attending this event will be chosen to represent
Northern Ontario at “Miss World Canada Pageant 2009” to be held
in Toronto spring of 2009. The age requirement to attend Miss
World Canada is 17 years of age as well as graduation from Grade
12 of the current year. On account of the fact that this event
is open to girls 16-24, the title of Miss North Ontario Regional
Canada could be separate from that of the contestant selected
to represent Northern Ontario at Miss World Canada. The contestant(s)
selected to attend Miss World Canada is decided upon by Miss
World Canada executive in attendance at the pageant and Miss
North Ontario Regional Canada is decided upon by the entire
judging panel. Miss North Ontario Regional Canada for that year
however automatically is the official representative for Northern
Ontario at this event should she meet the requirements. If she
does not meet the age requirements, she will attend in the year
that she does.
